A social media website alleges that half of Justin Bieber's record-breaking 37 million Twitter followers are fake. The website Social Bakers, which identifies fake, spam accounts by checking for "genuine tweets," claims that 53% of the pop star's foloowers are fake or inactive accounts.

The site claims that Bieber's actual follower count is 17.8 million. That places him behind Lady Gaga's alleged 19 million "actual followers"; Gaga is almost at the same level of supposedly fake accounts as she has 36 million total followers.
