Kim Kardashian’s edgy MTV hair tutorial.
Kim Kardashian's hairstylist has dished the tricks he used to create her rock-chick look at the MTV Movie Awards.
Kim recently had a blunt fringe cut into her glossy black mane and opted for a side-swept look for the ceremony on Sunday evening.
Chris McMillan has opened up about how he achieved the edgy style.
'We were going for a no-bangs look,' Chris told US Allure magazine after the show, adding that the pair 'wanted to keep things more rock and roll and a bit more fashion-y' to suit Kim’s sexy black Yves Saint Laurent dress.
To achieve the style, Chris prepped Kim's damp hair with Living Proof Prime Style Extender before giving her a 'full-bodied, no-frizz blowout' with a round brush. To mask her fringe, he made a deep side part and then coaxed the bangs to the side with a hair-dryer. A misting of flexible hold hairspray helped keep them in place and gave her hair a piece-y texture.
'We added a bit of Oribe Texturising because she likes that product a lot,' Chris added.
Kim managed to pull off her new hairstyle amid frustrations with her current haircut. The reality star recently posted a picture of herself on Instagram with the caption, 'Please grow out bangs! You’re officially bugging me!'
The star's overall look at the ceremony was praised, with her choice of a black floaty mini dress flattering her pregnancy curves.
